Before You Remodel
Many owners desire to make alterations in order to upgrade their apartments and the Ekahi Board of Directors encourages them to do so. The goal is not only to encourage but also to assist owners in upgrading and enhancing the use and value of their apartments without changing the unique character of Ekahi.
We have prepared an Apartment Alterations Policy to provide the necessary guidelines to Owners and their Contractors, the Building and Site Committee, the Board of Directors and the General Manager to ensure compliance with Article V of the By-Laws and that apartment alterations are made in accordance with applicable Policies.
Owners have the responsibility of not only adhering to the policies and procedures outlined in this manual but also for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Failure to comply with the provisions of this manual may result in the removal or change of an alteration at the owner's expense.

Fill out the Owner Alteration Application Form well before starting any alterations!
This includes painting and re-carpeting
Please remember, alteration work hours are 8-5 Mon-Fri *only*
(no work on Federal holidays); 30 day notice to neighbors for any "noisy
work" (see Apartment Alterations Policy Section F-3: Application for
Apartment Alterations Form).
